Blended Lean Programme for Healthcare (BLP)
£1,988 + VAT per delegate: book here
In-house programme: £POA - contact us

As the name implies the BLP is a blend of learning which is then developed into positive results through practical and relevant projects. The benefit here is a flexible and timed approach for starting Continuous Improvement in an agreed and defined area of the organisation.

In outline over a period selected staff are first trained in the essentials of Lean and Systems Thinking. Focused improvement projects are then created and implemented with staff being guided and supported by one of our experienced Lean Healthcare Project Managers.

Turning knowledge into application is evaluated at each stage. All projects will have distinct progress measures for success that are monitored with the staff.

How it works:

  • Delegates choose a service improvement project guided by us. This becomes the project that they will develop and implement through the duration of the programme;
  • Our Lean Healthcare specialists tutor delegates in how Lean is applicable to their own service improvement and efficiency projects;
  • Delegates are supported in their workplace to apply Lean principles to their individual projects to eliminate organisational waste and create opportunities to make savings and service quality improvements;
  • Delegates are mentored by Lean Healthcare specialists in both the softer (people side of change), as well as the harder problem solving tools and techniques of the Lean method in order to implement their projects;
  • The return-on-investment from this approach is a minimum 8:1 in terms of efficiencies and cost reductions, better quality or increased capacity.

Programmes comprise three parts (1) Tuition and project preparation (2) Waste investigation and redesign (3) Project implementation.
